I had installed the HP Smart printer app on my iPhone 7 successfully and was using it without any problems.   Now I cannot find the app icon on my phone’s screen andI have to go to 123.hp.com/oj4650 every time I want to scan using my phone.  I have tried to reinstall the app using the 123.hp.com website, but it thinks I still have the app and only gives the option to open it, not install it. The program is still in my phone and works, I just can’t see the app icon.  I also tried going to the app store, but it also thinks I still have the app.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Removing and re-installing HP Smart App should resolve the issue, let's try these steps:

1.) On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage and select HP Smart app, select Delete App.

2.) Download and install HP Smart App from here.

This solution did not work. I still can’t see the app icon.   (BTW, it’s  >Settings>General>iPhone Storage>then select the app).

 

After deleting the app, then when I try to install the app again,  it gives me the “download from cloud” symbol. I selected it because there was no other choise.  It loads, then asks if I want to open the app, and the program loads without any problem.  I just can’t select the App icon on my screen.  Very inconvenient.

Its possible that the app icon is located on a different page on the homescreen. If you see dots at the bottom of the homescreen for each page, swipe through all the pages and look for HP Smart App icon. If you don't see the icon, remove the app again, restart iPhone and then try re-installing HP Smart App. Also refer to the threads below:
