I am having an issue where my printer appears as Offline in the HP Smart, but I can still print documents and web pages from my computer without any problems.

Why is the app showing an offline status when the printer is actively connected and printing?

If you can print normally from the computer, the printer itself is connected and working. The “Offline” status in HP Smart is likely a communication/status issue with the app rather than the printer.

Try closing and reopening HP Smart, then restart both the printer and computer. If it still shows offline, remove the printer from HP Smart and add it again. You can also check whether the printer’s IP address has changed, especially if it’s connected over Wi-Fi/network.

I went through the instructions provided, but unfortunately HP Smart still shows the printer as Offline (even though local printing continues to work fine). I have attached an image of my printer info.  Screenshot 2026-09-08 004517.png
