Example: HP Color Laserjet 2065dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got my 2605dn running again and I need to run a cleaning cycle.  I downloaded HP Smart and it never finds the printer - even by the IP address.

The printer is installed - and prints - from all of my (6) computers.  It's there.  It just prints blue lines across the text (I want to try a cleaning cycle first, before I replace the toner).

Actually that just repeats the problem.

The printer is there.  It has a IP address and a hostname.  I can print to it.  The HP Smart app can't find it either by search or IP address or hostname.  I replaced the cyan cartridge and fixed the horizontal blue lines (waste of a brand-new cartridge) but now I have vertical black lines (like its dirty).  Of course, since HP has removed the old Toolbox from down load and the HP Smart app can't find my printer I can't run a cleaning cycle.

This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
