I have two Macs that have both until recently worked flawlessly with the HP Smart app and have both been able to communicate with my Envy Photo 7830 via the app. My iMac is currently able to communicate with the printer via the HP Smart app, but my Mac Mini cannot. If, on the Midi, I open the app, after the spinning circle has stopped spinning, I get to the Home Screen where I can see the printer which is shown as "Ready". If I then click on "Scan" I get sent to a "Create an Account" / "Sign In" window and if I click on Sign In I then get "Launching HP Account" and then "This can take up to 20 seconds...", then "Thanks for your patience"...... and then nothing, just a spinning circle. The "scan" button on the HP Smart app on my iMac works perfectly and opens the scanning page within the app. So why does the HP Smart app not work on my Mac mini? Is there a fix?
I am running OS Big Sur on the Mini and Catalina on the iMac. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the Mini.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Are you able to atleast print from your Mini?
Please delete from /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart. Then delete HP Smart from the Applications folder and reinstall from the Mac App Store.
Let me know if this helps.

Sorry for the delay in replying. In answer to your first question; yes, I can print, but I was unable to perform other printing tasks like scanning or faxing as the HP Smart application was unable to connect me to my HP account. I have no idea why and I also have no idea how it managed to work the next day.
I tried to log in to my account the following day and the HP Smart app seemed to get over its issue and connect me to my account. This is mysterious as I did nothing differently on each session, but at least it is not working.

I am having the same problem as described. I cannot scan from my iMac to my HP Printer using HP Smart. It asks me to sign in, then gets stuck in a spinning wheel during sign-in. I have deleted and re-installed HP Smart twice, with no change. I have just found this help thread, but cannot locate "/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart" in Finder. As I see it, I have no Library folder, and searching "Application Support" on "this Mac" turn up no results. Can you help? Thanks.

Cynragona - you are right. I cannot see the folder suggested by Betty0610, the HP support person who responded. Even when using the 'Go' option in a Finder window and navigating to the Library/ Application Support folder, there are no HP Smart folders there.
I have no idea why the HP Smart app started to work for me after being unable to connect to the HP server for a couple of days, but hopefully this issue will resolve itself in the same manner for you soon.
