Is there any way to use HP Smart without having to login?

Why is it necessary, when a customer has already purchased the printer, to force a login in order to use the software just to make a scan or check supplies status?

And every time HP Smart needs an update, we're forced to login again after the update.

This is extremely annoying and a waste of our time. Of course there's no easy way to tell HP to stop this irritating practice.

I feel lucky when my printer works 2 days in a row. it's always 'offline'. And HP support is no help. I've figured out how to get it working again each time, but it takes several tries, shutting down my printer AND my pc. Deleting my printer, then adding it back to the wifi and computer connections. And the help steps don't help. I'm about to turn this back in since it's not yet 30 days old. And get another Brand. NO more HP Printers. I used to love HP printers, but they haven't figured out how to make them work properly with wifi or bluetooth. It shouldn't take this many steps to do anything!! Looking at your warranty or making a scan take way too many steps. But I'm just fed up with all the trouble it takes to make a simple screen print.  Or print a document.  Yea, HP Smart is really DUMB. And wastes too much of my time.

Hello,

HP Smart is generally not required to use your printer. Although it does assist HP with offering support, you can use most devices without HP Smart.

Is your printer connected directly with USB or wirelessly?

Not True! It just doesn't work ever...

I think I've been able to print 2 pages and that's it. Now my full Ink cartriges are dried up. They dry up in a couple weeks.

Good point. Yes, on the days it works (and those have only been a few), I don't connect to HP Smart. But when I can't get it reconnected, I don't try to go to HP Smart, it goes there automatically . I'll set up the printer (for the 12th time or so) and select it for the print job. When it's done printing, i get a message from HP Smart that the 'print' has been sent to my phone. .. with no hard copy to me. That's useless for me. I don't go to HP Smart. It just takes over....after i've selected my printer for the job.

The instructions say you have to connect it via wifi or the printer won't work correctly, so a wired connection is not recommended. only for when the electricity goes out and no wifi is available and then if you use the wired connection too long, the printer will malfunction. so i don't see any point in wiring it.
