Hello HP Community.
So I have this printer (A HP DesJet 2132) and I am trying to print something. The old software does not work so I try to install HP Smart. When I install it and told it to find my printer, it did not find it. Even though the power is on and the usb is connected to my mac. (Macbook Air Early 2015) But the funny thing is that with the old software it says the printer is online but when I try to print it just does not respond. So the old software detects my printer but does not want to print and the new software is just not finding my printer at all. Please help.
Thanks,
Sebee

@Sebee, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to print from your Mac. Let us try these steps:
According to this document, this model printer does not support the HP Smart app or AirPrint drivers.
Check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Make sure the cable is directly connected between the Mac and the printer.
The use of a USB hub is not recommended. Also, make sure the cable is connected to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac.
Do you have an Anti-virus/firewall installed on the Mac? If yes, disable the same for time being.
You may check this in System Information > Applications.
- Check if the printer is getting recognized by your Mac:
- From the Apple menu, choose About This Mac.
- Click System Report.
- Under the Hardware heading on the left side of the System Information window, click USB.
USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus. The printer should be under the USB 2.0 Bus
Click here to install the software for the printer on the Mac via HP Easy Start and try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
