A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

Removing HP App its cache files and then re-installing HP App may resolve the issue. The Library folder contains personalization, preference and cache files of HP App. Let's try removing HP App and it's associated files from the Library folder:

1.) Open Finder and click Applications

2.) Move HP App to Trash and clear the Trash.

3.) Open Finder then click Go and Click Home.

4.) Click View then Click Show View Options. Check the box Show Library Folder.

The change is instantaneous and the Library folder will immediately becomes visible.

5.) Open Library and Open Application Support, move HP App folder to Trash and clear the Trash

6.) Download and install HP App from here.

Let me know how it goes!

I've done that at least 3 times. Same thing. Software still crashed.

The App doesn't work. It has a bug. Don't tell people to do unnecessary stuff to their Mac. You haven't been interested in this printer on the Mac platform. Webscan won't work on Mac, and Smart Tasks won't work from a Mac OS computer. Crashes every time.

HP App started crashing after I signed up to account. Here is how I solved

1. Go to Finder->applications

2. Right click HP App ->move to bin

3. Finder->empty bin

4. Search HP App in Finder

5. Delete all the HP App folders (you will typically see com.hp.xxx under Library->Application Support or Library->Containers)

6. Reinstall HP App

7. DO NOT Sign in to account. Just add the printer

It is just a shame that, this app crashes for Mac OS and it is very obvious.

hello I had exactly the same problem - try turning off wifi and loading the app then turning it on once it has started x
