The HP Smart assisted driver installation of a HP Deskjet 4220e continually failed.  I used a second Windows 11 Pro computer to install the printer driver.  I then returned to the first (also W11 Pro) computer and printing works but HP Smart continues to show an error "Finish Setup" as per image below.

I have tried completely removing HP Smart and reinstalling it but the error persists.

Hi ferRX

Thanks for your reply.  The printer mentioned in the YouTube is for the Envy 6100/6500 printer.  The Deskjet 4220e, that I am trying to complete the installation, does not have a top lid that provides access to the printer mechanism.  The 4220e has a lift-up scanner mechanism that provides access to the glass scanner platen.  The 4220e also has a front access flap that provides access to the printer mechanism (i.e. the ink cartridges).  I am helping a mate here - so I can try and guide him via the phone to open and close the front access flap whilst the HP Smart is reporting the error.  I will advise later if that resolves teh issue.

Hi ferRX

As suspected the printer issue is not resolved by opening the front flap and then closing it.  My previous reply earlier today pointed out that the printer I have has no top lid (only a scanner access 'lid'.

The question now remains open and hopefully someone will have an answer, but my tanks for trying to assist.

Regards

I have just received a further message from either yourself or the automated system.  No further assistance on the issue is included.  Being new to this portal I am unsure of the etiquette - do I click on the 'Yes' link or ignore.  I cannot accept your solution as it doesn't work for the printer I have the issue with.  Please accept my apologies if I have not done what you expect and my thanks for trying to help.
