When I start HP Smart, it hangs. A spinner is shown, and it keeps spinning. When I go to "Force Quit", the app is shown as unresponsive. It has worked on occasion, but it's stopped working again now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I even created a separate user as mentioned inhttps://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/HP-Smart-won-t-open-on-Mac/td-p/7096613, but that is not working now either. Because of this, I cannot scan. The printer itself is working. How can I get this to work? I copied some of the details of the error report after Force quit here.

As suggested, I ran the following two commands to clear settings.

rm -Rf  /Users/$USER/Library/Application\ Support/HP\ Smart/

rm -Rf /Users/$USER/Library/Containers/com.hp.SmartMac/

After relaunching HP Smart, the app is working!
