Hi @Rodg2some,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

A blank white screen in the HP Smart app is usually caused by corrupted app data, outdated web components, or a blocked network connection. You can quickly resolve this by repairing the app, updating your system components, or performing a clean reinstall.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide:

1. Repair and Reset the App (Windows):

If your local cache has become corrupted, repairing or resetting the app often restores it.

  • Open your PC Settings (press Windows Key + I).

  • Go to Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & features).

  • Search for HP Smart, click the three dots (...), and select Advanced options.

  • Click Repair. If it still opens to a white screen, return to the menu and click Reset.

2. Update System Components & Windows:

The HP Smart app relies heavily on embedded web viewing components.

  • Ensure your PC and mobile operating systems are completely up to date.

  • For Windows, open the Microsoft Store, click Library, and install all pending updates—specifically for Microsoft Store or Web Media Extensions.

3. Clear Store Cache and Disable VPNs:

  • In Windows: Press Windows Key + R, type WSReset.exe, and press Enter. This will clear the Microsoft Store cache.

  • On Mobile/PC: Temporarily disable your VPN or firewall, as these services often block the app's web components from loading properly.

4. Completely Reinstall the App:

If repairing doesn't work, a full reinstall is recommended.

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your PC or mobile device.

  • Download the fresh application from the Microsoft Store (Windows), the App Store (iOS), or the Google Play Store.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
