Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

today, it is 12th January 2021 and my HP Solution Center stopped working:

HP Solution Center.png

("HP Szolgáltatóközpont" equals to "HP Solution Center" - Hungarian Windows...)

I have uninstalled the *complete* HP package and I have downloaded the "DJ_AIO_NonNet_Full_WW_140_404-4".exe (https://support.hp.com/hu-hu/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-f2100-all-in-one-printer-series/3177559/... but I got the same result. Btw this is the lastes available driver-packege for this model and it's from 20th August 2014.

It is most probably the termination of the Adobe Flash Player support.

Anyway, I had to scan 2 documents and I have figured out that "Program Files(x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpiscnapp.exe" is responsible for this but I have no knowledge about its command-line parameters, so it behaves now a bit differently.

I would like to ask if there will be fix for that or what are the command line parameters of the hpiscnapp.exe to have the same user-behaviour when it is started from the HP Solution Center?

Best regards,

VPeti

Hi,

Regarding any future fix, I don't really know, as the HP Solution Center was retired many years ago.

You may install HP Scan Extended, then open the HP Scan Extended from the Programs menu and you should be able to scan, check if it may give you better results for your needs:

Thanks a lot for the tip, HP Scan Extended helped a lot, it is working.

I have the same problem, HP Solution center not working after flash was uninstalled by Chrome. A pitty HP does not fix this with an update.

Thanks again.

Thank you for the fix for scanning on my HP 6500 wireless printer

Well, this doesn't work for me: it does something, but there is no preview available (like nothing happened) and the save button ("Mentés") is grayed out...hp_scan_extended.png

I managed to solve the scanning issue....!

1) installed the HP install package on an old Win7 machine

2) connected the printer

3) with portable ProcessExplorer checked the starting command line parameters, which were

    "C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqkygrp.exe" -n"#Hewlett-Packard#HP Deskjet F2100 series#xxx" -a"SCAN" -f"SCAN_DOCUMENT"

where the "xxx" is a unique identifier of the installed printer

4) this "xxx" identifier with the complete name can be fetched from the Registry at "\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers\HP Deskjet F2100 series\PrinterDriverData" in the "SoftwareCUEContextID" string field

5) created a shortcut to the Windows desktop using the blue part and replace the red part with above the Registry string value

Shlomil,

Thanks for helping my to solve the problem with my outdated HP Solution Center.  I don't think I ever got a notice that it had to be replaced with the new HP Scan driver.  You would think HP would suggest that with their Virtual Agent.  Fortunately I found your post and link to the new driver.
