I have an icon on my desktop - HP Solution Center which is where I go to fix problems when the printer won't scan to my laptop. It tells me it is not installed, and I have to use the original CD or go online. I actually still have the original installation CD. I have reinstalled the printer driver software using the Setup, but that did not fix it. I asked the printer to restore factory defaults. That did not work either. What file from the original CD installation disk should I be using? Or, what download from the drivers page should I try?

Hi,
The HP Solution Center was a software provided for older HP printers prior 2010, it have nothing to do with your printer, this was a software of your old printer..
For your printer use the HP Printer Assistant software, that can be accessed by launching the HP Envy 4500 icon on your desktop or under Start > Apps > HP.
See 'Is Printer Assistant available for printers manufactured before 2010?' below as a reference:

Thank you! I did not know that software was part of an older system. I can safely delete it from my desktop and Control Panel. Thanks. I do have the Assistant installed, and have used that too. Thanks again.
