Hi @Hero974,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Resetting the EWS (Embedded Web Server) admin password on your HP Tango X printer may require a specific process. If the usual method of pressing the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds is not working, you may need to try a more extensive reset. Here are the steps you can follow.
-
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable.
- Turn on the printer.
-
Factory Reset:
- Press and hold the Power button on the printer for about 5 seconds until the front light begins to flash.
- Release the button to initiate a factory reset.
- The printer will go through the reset process, and this may take a few minutes.
-
EWS Password Reset:
- After the factory reset, the printer will return to its default settings, including the default EWS admin password.
- Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer's IP address in a web browser. The default IP address for HP printers is often http://192.168.223.1.
- Log in using the default EWS admin credentials. The default username is usually "admin," and the default password is also "admin" or may be blank.
-
Change Password:
- Once logged into the EWS, navigate to the security or password settings.
- Change the EWS admin password to a new one that you can remember.
-
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- After changing the password, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the updated credentials.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
