I purchased an HP Tango printer in North America, and it is region-locked to accept only HP 64 cartridges (North American version). Now that I'm in Denmark, I cannot use European equivalent cartridges because they have different part numbers and the printer rejects them due to regional restrictions.

I've learned from other forum posts that HP Support can perform a regionalization reset to change the printer's region to Denmark/Europe, but I'm unable to reach customer support to request this.

What I've Tried

  • Automated Chat: When I enter my serial number, the system says there is no warranty coverage and directs me to this forum

  • Email Support: I cannot find a valid email address for HP Support

  • Direct Contact: I'm unable to reach a live support representative

Anybody an idea, what I can do?

This is what I found:

You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

But I cant reach the support

I called the danish support number, they said they can't do it and I have to call the us support number. The us support told me the are not responsible, but he helps me - he told me to reset the printer with the browser (ip adress of my printer). So I did a manufacturer reset and logged in with a danish account. The problem is still the same. I really would like, who can help me.
