HP CP1215
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there an HP Toolbox (Windows 10 64 bit) for HP CP1215? I had it on my Windows 7 machine and it would alert me when mt ink was low.

@mpaine,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you need information and assistance related to HP Toolbox is it available on Windows 10 or not. No worries, I would be glad to help you.

HP Tool box is an old application which was included in HP Solution center, Since HP solution is outdated there is no HP Toolbox available, however the same functions would be available in HP Printer assistant which you can find an icon on the desktop, Within HP Printer Assistant, you should have an item called "Maintain your printer" (Now this should be the second item on the left hand side) This is the tool box

Note: You need to have the full feature software installed to have the HP Printer Assistant.

I hope this answers your question, let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

I installed the printer by plugging in the USB cable. As such, Windows 10 installed the driver. I have looked at my control panel device manager printer properties, and have looke for a Printer Assistant utility and have foud nothing that enables me to see info about the printer

It looks like you were interacting with @Jeet_singh, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

The HP ToolBox or the Full Feature Software is not available for this Printer Model and for Windows 10

You can still check the printer Information and Ink Level using the HP Print And Scan Doctor

Click this Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe to download the HP Print And Scan Doctor

- On the menu bar, click Printer, and then click Supply Levels or Ink Levels.

- On the menu bar, click Printer, and then click Advanced Printer Data. The printer serial number, warranty status, and other information displays.

Alternately you can download and use the HP Smart App. Click this Link: https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9wzdncrfhwlh

On the app home screen, you can view the printer status, view estimated ink levels, order replacement ink supplies, and go to your HP Instant Ink dashboard if you are enrolled in HP Instant Ink.

  • View printer status: Confirm your printer is ready for use. A yellow caution triangle displays when the printer needs attention. Click the icon for more information about the issue.

Example of a printer ready to use

  • Identify ink cartridges and order printer supplies: Click the ink cartridges listed next to your printer to view the estimated ink levels and identify which ink cartridges work with your printer.

Hope this helps

Keep me posted if you need further assistance

I have HP Print And Scan Doctor 5.1 and when I launch the application the menu bar "Printer" tag is grayed and cannot be selected

FYI: Neither the Print and Scan Doctor nor HP Smart will connect to my CP 1215. Are there other options?

@mpaine, & @gdgeorge,

It's great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

As I understand you have tried the steps suggested and unfortunately nothing has helped to resolve this issue. Don't worry as I have a few other steps which should help you resolve this issue.

Let's first uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them by following the below steps:

  • Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Please click here to download and install the basic drivers for your HP Printer.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Now once you have installed the basic drivers, I would suggest here is to uninstall the HP Smart App and then try to install it from Windows store and check if that works.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!
