Universal Driver is not updated correctly on windows 10 x64 v1803
Using an older printer driver causes appliction to cease up or not responding when connecting to a printer with older driver.
Update PCL 6 driver (to latest) on Print Server and device. Issue still occurs
remove driver and printer etc and re-add in - issue still occurs. - does not update the older driver.
Use a fresh device that never had old driver, there is no issue using printer or driver
Printing since v1803 upgrade has been nothing short of disaster!!!

Hi The_Fossette
Thanks for the reply
- What is the exact model for your printer?
The issue is not restricted to 1 printer model, I have mutliple different laserjets, M552, P3015 M4555, all on print server
The issue is with the printer using the Universal Driver PCL 6
- What is the exact issue you are facing?
Windows 10 v1709 client connects to shared printer using PCL 6 v 61.190 - no problem
Upgrade to Windows 10 v1803 printer can connect to same printer using same driver but there is a delay when selecting printer.
Upgrade Driver (on device and on print server) to v 61.220 (latest) issue still occurs.
Fresh install of Windows v1803 that connected to same printer only uses PCL6 v61.220 - no issue.
- Are you able to make a copy?
Yes I can replicate this issue.
- Have you tried installing the full feature driver?
No just installed the driver on the print server where the client downloads the driver from.

Hi The Fossette
Just wondering if you had any suggestions to the issue above?
As a workaround we have been using Printer specific drivers that will allow better printing,
However most of our printes do not have specific drivers such as LJ 3015 so we are really pushing for a solution to this.
Thanks

Looks like the printers you have are commercial printers and there is no forum support for commercial printers.
I recommend you contact support and they will assist you in this regard.
Cheers!
