Hi. I need some help with my printer (HP 6120e).

 

I want to set up the quality of printing  (normal -> draft) via Windows 11 Application (e.g. Microsoft Word). Therefore Windows starts "HP Universal Print", but this application crashes every time.

 

Restart of PC, de-/installation of every HP software (HP Smart, HP Universal Print) does not change anything. Newest firmware is installed on printer.  Windows 11 is up to date.

 

Can somebody help?

Word and Word-ish document editors normally require that you install the full driver printer software for your printer and OS / version.  

 

If you have not done so,

Consider / Try installing the full driver to support printing from within Word.

-- What is? --

 

On supported printers / OS, the HP Universal Printing Driver adds a driver / queue functionality that, together with other nice features, reduces or eliminates job setup conflicts by only allowing compatible settings to be selected together.

 

Once installed on a supported platform for a supported printer, the HP Universal Printing Driver can be selected as one would select the "Printer" in the job configuration.

Reinstall the full driver printer software

 

Short Version - (Re)Install Printer Software

 

If this is a re-installation,

  • Uninstall the full driver printer software from Programs and Features or Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
  • Restart the computer and sign in

Next,

  • Scroll down to "Install full driver printer software

 

Details / How-to / Examples 

 

Check / Apply Windows Updates

 

  • Check / Install any pending Windows Updates 
  • If not done as part of Windows Updates, Restart your computer 

Next,

Uninstall existing printer software

  • Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
  • If your printer software includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
  • Restart the computer and log in.

Install full driver printer software

  • If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

 

Web Pack Installation - Open Web Page - Full Driver Printer Software

HP Envy 6100 Series EasyStart Printer Setup Software - Offline Use Only 

 

  • Open the Web Page
  • Download, Save, and Install the software.
  • If using a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer, connect the cable when instructed to do so (near the end of the software installation process.
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
