My OS is macOS Sonoma 14.0
I am using HP-Utility from my iMac and my printer is an ENVY Photo 6220.
Each time I ask for an ink status, its crashes.
Is there anyway to correct that ?
sincerely
LG

Hi @LucOlivier,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to have the HP Utility crash like that. Here are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.
Update HP Utility: Ensure you have the latest version of HP Utility installed. Sometimes updates can fix bugs and compatibility issues.
Update macOS: Make sure your macOS is up to date with the latest patches and updates. Sometimes, OS updates can resolve compatibility issues with third-party applications.
Reinstall HP Utility:
- Uninstall HP Utility from your Applications folder.
- Restart your iMac.
- Download and reinstall the latest version of HP Utility from the HP website.
Reset Printing System:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the Printers list and choose "Reset printing system."
- Re-add your HP printer and see if the issue persists.
Check Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check this through the printer’s onboard menu or the HP Smart app.
Try HP Smart App: Consider using the HP Smart app instead of HP Utility for managing your printer. The HP Smart app can perform many of the same functions and might be more stable.
Check for Conflicts: Sometimes other software or drivers might conflict with HP Utility. Try starting your iMac in Safe Mode and see if HP Utility works there.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
