HP Envy

I have an HP envy laptop & an HP deskjet 2600 All in one .  I have not used the printer for a while but need to use it now. It was working perfectly fine - same laptop last time I tried,  The printer is connected to the network & will print from the test pages from its control panel however will not print documents from the laptop. I uninstalled & tried to reinstall- however the HP app from windows - has an error when I try to install - says something unexpected happened. Tried installing the software without the HP app but it goes so far & then just nothing else happens. I am at the point of buying a new printer as i need to work but realise with not be able to buy another HP as that will also need the HP app - I am part of the instant ink programme so will lose out on that as well - any quick simple solution?

Hi,

What is your exact Version number as listed within the Windows Specification section of the operating system?

Also, I suggest following Windows Update and ensure any of the latest OS updates are installed, repeat the process till clicking the Check for updates button provides no more updates, then try reinstalling HP Smart again:

I ran several update checks to ensure that I was up to date. Still had no luck with HP Smart

Just to say that when I try to download the app - it says you own this app briefly before giving the error.

I couldn't see any issue with reinstalling the app so this is not a general issue.

 

I suggest following below steps and check if that may help getting the latest HP Smart app installed:
