How can I stop my HP printer app from popping up every time I do a search from a web platform? I have a search bar for brave web browser and whenever I click the question mark and ask a question it takes me to like my printing app like I thought I was trying to print something. It does the same thing if I'm inside Chrome browser and search something in it. The app should not be staying open after I push the print button. The app should not be opening up in any other app or browser. Unless I click the print button. It does this on different browsers. It does it on Brave and it does it inside chrome. It does not do it when I search on the Chrome widget. But it does it when I do the brave widget and when I search inside of Chrome browser once I'm already in that browser on my phone.

@Gonzo33, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP app popping up when you do a widget browser search!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like the HP printer app might be set as the default handler for certain actions on your device, causing it to open unexpectedly when you use search functions in certain browsers. Here are some steps to fix this issue:
Check Default Apps & Clear Defaults
- Go to your phone's settings → Open Apps & Notifications (or Apps).
- Scroll down and find HP Printer app.
- Tap Open by default (or Set as default).
- If you see any defaults set, tap Clear defaults.
Disable "Open Supported Links" for HP Printer App
- In the same HP Printer app settings screen, look for "Open supported links".
- Set it to "Don’t allow".
Reset Default Browser Settings
- Go to Settings → Apps & Notifications → Select Brave or Chrome.
- Tap Open by default.
- If HP Printer is linked to any action here, clear it.
Check App Permissions
- Go to Settings → Apps → HP Printer App → Permissions.
- Disable unnecessary permissions like "Draw over other apps" or "Open links".
Uninstall and Reinstall HP Printer App
If the problem persists, uninstall the HP Printer app and reinstall it from the Play Store. This may reset any misconfigured settings.
After following these steps, test searching again in Brave and Chrome to see if the issue is resolved. Let me know if you need more help! 🚀
Take care, and have an amazing day!
