Incompatibility issue with my HP 1000 deskjet w/Mac Big Sur.  Got a new MacBook Pro and in order to transfer data from my MacBook Air it told me I needed to update to the newest OS.  After that my HP 1000 would not work.  Apparently it is not compatible w/Big Sur.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Do I need to go back to an earlier OS, like Catalina?  If so, how do I do that?

I'd like to help!

 

HP Deskjet 1000 driver for macOS 11 is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

 

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
