Microsoft Windows 11

Hey there,

I have an HP Envy x360 2in 1 15-Ew0xxx, and after the Windows update from Windows 10 Home to Windows 11 64-bit version 23H2, the driver for the HP IR Camera is not working. I tried to update the driver from Device Manager, but it didn't work. then I uninstalled the driver, and it totally disappeared. Now I cannot find the driver.

Hi @addy25,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with the IR Camera driver on your HP Envy x360 after updating to Windows 11, here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem.

  • Check Windows Update: Sometimes, Windows Update might offer driver updates. Check if there are any pending updates related to your IR Camera or any other hardware.
  • HP Support Website: Visit the HP support website for your specific laptop model. They often provide drivers and software updates for their devices. You can search for the IR Camera driver specifically for your model and download it from there.
  • Device Manager: In Device Manager, right-click on any device and select "Scan for hardware changes." This might prompt Windows to detect the camera hardware again and try to reinstall the appropriate driver.
  • Windows Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooting tools that can sometimes resolve driver issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then select "Hardware and Devices" to run the troubleshooter.
  • Rollback Driver: If you've recently updated the driver and it caused issues, you can try rolling back to the previous version. Right-click on the IR Camera in Device Manager, select "Properties," go to the "Driver" tab, and click "Roll Back Driver" if available.
  • System Restore: If none of the above steps work, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the Windows update. This should restore your system to a state where the camera driver was working correctly.

Always ensure you download drivers and software updates from official sources to avoid any potential security risks or compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
