HP no longer supporting HP officejet 4500

hp disabled my hp officejet 4500 G510g printer. "...no longer applicable to your system and have been removed".  I understand obsolesence, but this is just a printer. would it kill them to continue supporting it.  Is there a workaround? And I cannot afford to buy a replacement printer.

At this writing, the option to install the Windows Print Drivers is still available for your printer and Windows 10.

• Windows Fax and Scan: In Windows, search for and open Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Scan, and then select your printer.
• Windows Paint: In Windows, search for and open Paint. Click FileFrom scanner or camera.
• Windows Scan app: In Windows, search for and open the Windows Scan app. If it is not listed, go to Windows Scan (in English) to install it.
