Have two (2)  HP Lazer Jet (P1006) printers which I LOVE!!

 

But HP has not providers drivers for use with  Windows 11 computer.

 

Come on HP….  Why are your forcing me to do discard these perfectly good printers…??

 

Bad policy…  Certainly not going to buy any more HP products with this lack of support!!

I see that you are facing an issue with installing drivers for your Printer.

The printer model you have is obsolete and does not have a software for windows 11.

 

However, you can Install the printer with Windows built-in driver.

You can refer to this document to install the printer.

I1.  My P1006 printer is not "obsolete".    I use it every day and it serves me VERY well on my Windows 10 computer.    It will print many more pages if I can get it to work on my new Windows 11 machine.   A better term would be "unsupported by its manufacture".    So too then, why does HP continue to sell the proprietary printer cartridges for my Laser Jet P1006...?  THAT is a contradiction!     Note:  I have just purchased three HP brand cartridges for my two  P1006 printers. 

 

Clearly....  it is in the interest of profits (require me to buy replacement  printers) that HP has not provided drivers for Windows 11.   THAT does not sit wall with folks who are loyal to a brand. 

 

2.  I will try your suggested solution and report back when I get my new computer.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble you are going through with installing the printer software.

 

As said earlier, you can install the windows built-in drivers to continue using your printer.
