Hello,
I have a problem with the HP printer Office Jet 3831.
The software setup under Windows 10 was a little patchy. Under Windows 11 I am told "HP office jet 3830 not found" when I want to scan. It was working last week after a lengthy update and install orgy..... This printer is cra.....
I googled the problem and followed advice to uninstall - which I did - and reinstall using HP Easy start. I get to the window with lots of colourful icons for functions and it tells me the specs of the printer, i.e. the PC sees the printer. When I want to scan I get to a blank white window and ............. yes, nothing happens. I have used Easy Start several times.
The printer is connected to the Wifi and also a cable directly to the PC, which I prefer.
How can I get this to JUST scan?
I am ready to bin it and go to the competition!!!!

You may need to install printer using Full software driver.
1. Please install the next Full driver:
2. Once installed then Restart your computer.
3. Search in your computer Desktop for a software "HP Scan" and double click to open scanner function.

I see these windows after various installations.
Either blank forever - HP Easy Start, then scan - or after a full installation I get asked to convert to wireless and when I click convert I get told that there is no printer even though the HP software and Device Manager see the printer. The USB lead is connected to the printer and the PC - double checked.
