HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Printer became offline on January 25,2025.  Still cannot get offline printer with blue screen code 049834E8 to be online.  Troubleshooter or hp smart not working because I cannot even select the printer since it is offline. I have already pulled the plug of the printer, computer, and router and put back in several times.  I cannot do any next steps, such as updating firmware, etc. unless the printer offline becomes online, so I can select it.  Thanks all for any advice.

Hi @SDJFred,

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Restart Devices in Proper Order

  1. Turn off the printer, computer, and router.
  2. Unplug the power cable from the printer and wait 60 seconds.
  3. Restart the router first and wait for it to fully reconnect.
  4. Turn on your computer.
  5. Plug in and turn on the printer last.

Set Printer Online Manually

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
  2. Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing.
  3. Click Printer at the top and uncheck Use Printer Offline (if checked).

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  1. On the printer screen, go to Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  3. Wait for the Wi-Fi light to turn solid blue.

Add Printer Again (If It’s Not Detected)

  1. Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
  2. Click Add a Printer and follow the instructions.

If it’s still offline, let me know if you see any error messages! 😊
