Hi, I have an old HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw that I am trying to setup after many years of not using it. It tells me logon to the HP WiFi, but that WiFI is asking for a password. What is it or how do I find it?

@DlaGenoa, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Are you trying to connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi or using Wi-Fi Direct?
- If your goal is to connect it to your home Wi-Fi, you’ll need to set it up through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
- If you're trying to print using Wi-Fi Direct, you’ll need the default password. You can get this by printing a network configuration page from the printer.

@DlaGenoa, Thanks for getting back to us.
No worries—here’s how you can print the Network Configuration Page and Wi-Fi Direct info from your HP Color LaserJet
Pro MFP M180nw:
🖨️ To print the Configuration Page:
On the printer control panel, press the Information button (🛈 or i) once.
The printer should print out a Configuration Report and Network Summary.
These pages will contain the Wi-Fi Direct name and the default password (usually under the Wi-Fi Direct section).
💡 If the Info button alone doesn’t work:
Try this instead:
Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button (usually has a 🔁 or ❌ symbol) until the Ready light starts blinking, then release.
It will print the information pages, which should include the Wi-Fi Direct details.
@Garp_senchau is away at the moment. And, I am happy to be of assistance.
Hope this helps!
