PS5520_R1610A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade firmware on my Deskjet 5525 printer (USB 2 port connected) but HP printer update software ''PS5520_R1610A'' is unable to find the connected printer.

Latest driver & software is installed and printing through USB is working.

Run as admin, restarting, reconnecting or connecting wirelessly doesnt solve the issue.

Any suggestions please?

Hello, @electrovalent – Greetings!

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! I’d like to help 🙂

I see that you are trying to update the printer firmware and is facing issues. You need to have the full feature printer drivers installed to update the firmware correctly. Check the steps below to re-install the full feature drivers and to update the firmware.

  • Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer, if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Deskjet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click on HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer to download and install the printer drivers.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Restart the printer and the PC.
  • Now, go back to HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer to download and update the firmware.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Cheers 🙂

Hi, and thank you.
It seems that the issue was on the executable file.
After downloading again and again, the third file run correctly and found my printer.
Everything else went smoothly.
