After updating my to macOS Catalina version 10.15.4, I cannot print. I downloaded the driver "Mac printer 5.1" but when I try to print on either the HP Officejet 4500 g510 or HP Deskjet f4180 that I have access to, the status says "idle" and does not print. I have deleted the driver and printers and added them again but the same happens. I connect to the printers using a USB cable.

@dp0, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that you're unable to print after the system update. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue.
- Go to System Information to check the USB detection. Connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer. The port should be USB 2.0 or greater. If you use a USB hub or docking station, connect the cable directly to the computer.
- Make sure the cable is secure on both ends.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not think the issue is with the USB cable or USB port. I have tried a different USB port and making sure the cable is secure on both ends but the status continues to say "idle" and does not print.

Try resetting the printing system on your Mac computer and then try to add the printer-
-
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
-
Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.
-
Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
Figure : Clicking Reset printing system
-
Click Reset or OK.
-
If prompted, type your username and password, and then click OK.
The printing system resets.
-
Turn off the printer, wait 5 seconds, and then turn on the printer.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
-
In the Printers window on the Mac, click the Add button
.
-
Select your printer from the list, and then click Add.
It might take a few seconds before your printer displays in the Printers list.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I followed each step but unfortunately, it did not fix the problem. The status of the printer said "idle." I then tried to print something and the status of the printer said "in use" and the print queue said "printing-waiting for printer to become available" but the document did not print. The print queue also says "marker supply low."
Are HP printer drivers no longer compatible with the most recent mac software updates?
