Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, everyone. I have a problem with my HP printer's program.

HP Desk Jet 2622 All-in-One Printer

windows 10

the HP program that runs the printer isn't starting. It stays on the waiting spinning animation.
The printer is plugged with it's power cable and the USB cable connected to the computer.
The printer is started.  The computer is connected to the internet while I try to start the HP program.

What must I do to have the program to work? Thank you very much

Hi @Alex_Tomaso,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the HP printer software not launching properly on your Windows 10 computer. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Restart your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software issues. Try restarting your computer and see if the HP program starts properly afterward.
  • Update HP Software: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP printer software installed on your computer. You can usually download the latest drivers and software from the HP support website.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 10 operating system is up-to-date by checking for and installing any available updates. Sometimes, compatibility issues can arise with outdated operating systems.
  • Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can automatically diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. You can download and run this tool from the HP website to see if it can identify and fix the issue.
  • Reinstall HP Software: If the problem persists, try uninstalling the HP printer software from your computer and then reinstalling it. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, find the HP printer software in the list, and select Uninstall. Once uninstalled, download the latest version of the software from the HP website and follow the installation instructions.
  • Check for Conflicting Software: Sometimes, other software installed on your computer can conflict with the HP printer software. Try temporarily disabling any antivirus or firewall software and see if the HP program starts properly. If it does, you may need to adjust the settings of the conflicting software to allow the HP program to run.
  • Try a Different USB Port/Cable: If you're using a USB connection between your computer and the printer, try connecting the printer to a different USB port on your computer or using a different USB cable to rule out any issues with the connection.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issue with the HP printer software not starting properly on your Windows 10 computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
