I just set up my new HP printer, and for some reason my HP account is listed under my husbands name.  when I scan to email, it states on the emails that the files are coming from my husband.  How do I remove him when I never added him in the first place?

@Shelley72

There are at least three parts to this setup.

I will try to explain though there is a risk that I'll miss something.

Of the three, the first two might parts accomplish what you need and are the least troublesome (least likely to get weird).

The first part is the

HP Smart / HP Connected Login

Click Flag to switch to your region

Here you can add / remove a printer, change a couple of the settings.

For example, for a printer already added to the HP Smart / HP Connected account,

You can add your email address to the list of Allowed Senders / Access

What to do?

Sign into the HP Smart / HP Connected account using your HP Account credentials.

Click on an existing printer name to see what can be changed / updated.

In section Print Anywhere  (lower left corner of the page after selecting your printer)

If your email address is not (yet) listed (in the list of "Access" allowed senders), you can add your email to the "Access" (allowed senders) list.  Adding yourself to the Access list does not impact the owner of the account but it does let you use the printer email address from your own email.

 Step 3:  Use Print Anywhere

What about the actual owner of the HP Smart / HP Connected login?

You cannot (any longer) do anything about the owner used to sign into the HP Smart / HP Connected account.

That process has been moved to a separate facility that controls your HP Account / Dashboard.

HP Account, for example, controls your sign-in to HP Smart print / scan application, the sign in to HP Support Assistant, and your HP registered device list.  HP Account is used to sign into the HP Community.

Next...

What else?

If you are using HP Smart (Windows) to scan and then "Share" to email,

Open Windows Mail application

Add your email address to the Windows Mail

You can then choose to send / share the scanned content from that email account.

Wait!

HP Account - Login / Dashboard

Note:  Log into your HP Account if / when you need central access to your device information, including the ability to update your personal  information.

Open the Profile / Click on your user name after signing in to the Dashboard main page.

If you want to change the owner of the HP account (for example, the email) and all access associated with it, you can do that.

Be aware that changing your Profile in your HP Account is not the same thing as simply adding your email to an Access list or adding your email to Windows Mail.

For example:  Changing the owner of the HP account access changes the sign-in requirements for HP Smart - the print / scan application - and anything else used by your HP Account.

Changing your HP Account - assuming it works - can work as expected OR it can be messy.

The attempt to change the owner of your HP Account might fall into chaos or it might be "cake".

Chaos?  We would likely need an agent or community moderator to intervene.
