This Photosmart 7520 is LESS than 10years old. However, according to HP site, it is lumped as a 7550 and says it is retired and no longer can download drivers, etc.
Please fix this! This printer is about 5 years old, NOT 10. Having problems with new HP computer with Win 10 seeing printer. Keeps saying printer is offline when it isn't. Have to turn wifi off and back on to get it to print.
Thank you

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have a 5 year old HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer and it has stopped printing. The printer appears to be offline while trying to print. You have to turn off the wifi and turn it back on to make it to print. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
Not to worry, as I have a few suggestions.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Did any updates or software changes take place recently on the computer?
- Is the printer able to make a copy successfully?
- Does the printer print from other computers (if available) in the wifi network?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This program will detect and fix any printer drivers related issue.
If the issue still persists then I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers from root level and then reinstall them by following the below steps:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Once you have uninstalled the drivers, please download the drivers from this link.
I hope this information helps. Please do keep me posted. Cheers!

What did the trick was downloading the Windows driver. Printer also will not duplex copy. It used to. Now, it says that paper wrong size (it is 8-1/" x 11"). Also, when receiving a fax it shows paper wrong size, still same regular size. Main tray selected, NOT photo tray.
Thank you

Seems like its a driver settings issue. Please follow the below steps:
- Open Devices and Printers.
- Your HP Photosmart 7520 will be listed. Right click on it and select Printing Preferences.
- In the Printing Preferences window, under one of the tabs, there should be the option to select Duplex printing.
Secondly, if the printer says that it is an incorrect paper size then remove the photo paper out and keep only the 8.5 x 11" paper and try to make a copy and check if the printer is able to make a copy.
To set the paper size for received faxes from the printer control panel:
1. From the Home screen, touch Settings.
2. Touch Fax Setup, and then select Basic Fax Setup.
3. Touch Fax Paper Size, and then select an option.
Hope this helps. Let me know. 🙂

OPtion for duplex printing used to be there, but not now that I did the Windows drivers. No photo paper has been in printer at all. Fax setting already set for 8x11. Thank you.
Still don't undertand why drivers went away for this printer on HP site since it is far less than 10 years old. They were just there few weeks ago!
