Hi @abqjimbo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Smart app won’t open and you need it working. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and fix it:

1. Restart Your Device

Close the HP Smart app completely.

Restart your PC, Mac, or mobile device.

Sometimes a simple restart clears temporary glitches.

2. Check for Updates

Make sure your device OS is up to date.

Open the App Store (iOS), Play Store (Android), or Microsoft Store (Windows) and check for HP Smart updates.

Install any available updates.

3. Clear Cache / Temporary Files

Windows:

Press Win + R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.

Find the HP Smart folder and delete it.

Restart the app.

Mobile:

On Android: Settings → Apps → HP Smart → Storage → Clear Cache.

On iOS: Delete the app, then reinstall from the App Store.

4. Reinstall the HP Smart App

Uninstall the HP Smart app completely.

Restart your device.

Reinstall the app from the official Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store.

5. Check Network Connection

HP Smart requires an internet connection to start.

Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a stable network.

Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data (on mobile devices) to test.

6. Run as Administrator (Windows only)

Right-click the HP Smart icon → Run as Administrator.

Sometimes permission issues prevent the app from opening.

7. Check for Conflicting Software

Antivirus or firewall settings may block HP Smart.

Temporarily disable them and try opening the app.

If it works, add HP Smart to exceptions in your antivirus/firewall.

I hope this helps.
