I want to use my printer without using the HP Smart APP, I had it fixed that way once but for some reason i lost that set up and when I reinstalled, I got stuck with this app. I find it annoying with more options than I want or need. I just want to print and do a simple PDF scan. Does anyone know how to make this happen without this stupid app?

@Pete8820, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Uninstall the HP Smart App:
Open the Start Menu and type “HP Smart” in the search bar.
Right-click on the HP Smart app and select Uninstall.
Confirm to uninstall the app and remove it from your system.
Add Your Printer Using Windows Settings:
Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
Click Add a Printer or Scanner and wait for Windows to detect your HP DeskJet 2700.
Select your printer from the list and click Add Device. Windows will install the necessary drivers.
Use the Windows Print Dialog:
Once your printer is added, you can print directly from any program (like Word, PDF viewers, etc.) by selecting File > Print and choosing your printer.
Scan Using Windows Scan App:
Download and open the Windows Scan app from the Microsoft Store if you don’t already have it.
Select your printer from the drop-down menu in the Scan app.
Choose your scan settings and click Scan. This will allow you to scan without the HP Smart app.
Disable HP Smart Auto-Start:
If the HP Smart app starts automatically when you boot up your computer, you can disable it:
Right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Go to the Startup tab and find HP Smart.
Right-click on it and select Disable to prevent it from starting automatically.
I hope this helps.
