From time to time I receive a HP low ink notification despite not being printing on my wirelessly connected hp officejet 4260.

Is this a normal behavior which notifies the user sometimes or this indicates a network problem as the printer got reconnected to the network and promptly send those notifications ?

I have HP software for macos installed, notifications seems to be from the software.

Thanks

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Ink alert are intended as a warning so you can have a replacement cartridge available and avoid possible printing delays. You do not need to replace the cartridge until print quality becomes unacceptable. We can disable the ink alert notification using HP Utility. Here is how to do it:

1.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications.

2.) Click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility.

3.) Click Message Center.

4.) Click Settings and then Un-check all the options.

5.) Click Apply Now.

Let me know how it goes!
