Hi 

My HP 2729 printer keeps detecting the paper size as 5x7 instead of A4. Tried moving the guide to fit the paper tightly, restarting the printer and updating the driver, nothing seems to work. Can you please help

If your HP DeskJet 2729 All-in-One Printer is not detecting the correct paper size, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Check Paper Guides: Ensure that the paper-width and paper-length guides are set snugly against the paper. Improper alignment can cause the printer to misread the paper size.

 

Adjust Paper Settings:

  • Access the Printer Software on your computer.
  • Navigate to the Print & Scan section, and select "Maintain Your Printer" to open the HP Desk Jet 2729 series Toolbox.
  • Ensure the paper size selected matches the size loaded in the tray.

Load Paper Correctly:

  • Open the input tray and load the paper as instructed, ensuring it is not overfilled and that the edges are not bent.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset minor glitches.

Clear Paper Path:

  • Check for any obstructions or bits of paper that might affect paper alignment and handling.
