@dscla, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your HP2810e printer is having trouble printing PDFs, either directly or after saving them. Here's a checklist to help troubleshoot the issue:

Check Printer Status

Ensure the printer is connected: Verify that the printer is online and connected to your computer (via USB or network).

Update Printer Drivers

Outdated drivers could cause compatibility issues. Visit HP's official website, search for your model (HP2810e), and make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your operating system.

Check PDF Software Settings

If you’re using Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF viewer, it might be malfunctioning. Try:

Reinstalling the PDF software.

Opening the PDF in a different PDF reader.

Updating the PDF software to the latest version.

Printing Preferences

In your print dialog, make sure the printer is selected correctly.

Go to the Printer Preferences and make sure there are no settings, like "Save as PDF" or "Print to File" enabled.

Try printing a test page from the printer settings to see if the printer works with other documents.

Restart Print Spooler (Windows):

  1. Search services in the search box. Open the service menu.
  2. In the list, find Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.
    1. If it’s stopped, click Start instead.
  4. Close the window. Check if the issue persists

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
