On 12/09/2019 you stated that HP was working on a fix for the scan capabilities for the 4650 with Mac OS Catalina. Has that issue been resolved??

Hi HP Support Community,

 

My MacBook Pro with the latest Catalina macOS (v. 10.15.2) is still not working with my HP OfficeJet 4650 all-in-one printer (with Mac printer driver 5.1). I cannot print, or scan documents and send it to my Mac either (with or without EasyScan).

I know that my printer is working since I use my other PC laptop (with Windows10 Enterprise v. 1809) to print or scan documents from this same HP printer (and forward them to my Mac!).

The same with my Mac since I can print or scan documents with it at work.

I am interested in getting any tips in resolving this issue which started last October! (BTW, my HP4650 and Mac were working absolutely fine together before I upgraded my macOS to Catalina!)

Who is this TEJ1602?  Does he even read what he writes?  He gave the identical piece of advice twice - and was twice told it didn't work.  Is this typical of the bozos that HP hires?  I've been having the identical trouble for weeks also (same 4650, same Mac OS), and getting the same ignorant runaround by HP.

Update to my own angry posting above:  Mac has now released OS 10.15.3 - and things are working again.  It turns out the problem was not outdated HP software - it was buggy Apple software.

The day after you posted this, Apple issued OS 10.15.3.  Update now and things should work fine.  I had the identical issue, and the Mac update fixed my HP problems
