Does anybody have an idea if scan to text is possible with a HP 7740 on Mac OS X? I have installed the most recent print/scan drivers from HP but I do not find the "PDF searchable" option in the Scanner of System Preferences. Does that work on Mac anyway?

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

I believe HP Easy scan has an option to save scans as RTF or TXT files. Here is how to do it:

1.) Open HP Easy Scan. If HP Easy Scan is not installed on your Mac, you may download and install HP Easy scan from here

2.) Scan a document or photo using the app.

3.) Click Send, and then click Folder.

Click Send to save a scan to a folder on the Mac

4.) Select RTF or TXT in the Format menu.

5.) Click Save.

Let me know how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)
