Just for your information you can install your printer with the basic Windows drivers.

 

You can check the steps to print and scan using only Windows drivers in the next video:

Well, I installed the HP Universal Scanner software per you suggestion. Played around with it for some time, but it could never find the printer! The printer was there and connected as I could both print and scan and use the Web interface! At the moment, I just print in black and white because the color doesn't work correctly. (Incidentally, that is true from a second system that uses the printer, too.) I'm beginning to think the printer hardware has failed on me (days after the warranty expired!.)

I think that when I get a chance, I'll uninstall the HP drivers and try your suggestion of using the Windows drivers!

It may take me a few days as personal life calls! I'll let you know what transpires!
