Hi @trouble98pete ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that after performing an OOBE (Out of Box Experience) reset on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus (N911), you're encountering an issue where the Home screen or any menus are not appearing.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Check if the Home screen or menus appear.
2. Reset the Printer Again
- Access the Service Menu again by holding down the following key combination on the control panel:
- Back (arrow key) > Home (house icon) > Back (arrow key) > Home (house icon).
- Once in the Service Menu, perform a partial reset or semi-full reset, which might resolve the display issue. Be aware this may reset some settings like network configuration.
3. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If the firmware has become corrupted after the OOBE reset, try updating the firmware.
- You can do this by connecting the printer to your computer via USB and downloading the latest firmware from the HP Support page.
4. Perform a Factory Reset
- If you can access the menu, try a full factory reset by following the steps in the service menu.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
