If you're encountering a "driver unavailable" error when installing your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e printer, here are some steps to resolve the issue.
Download and Install the Latest Driver
- HP Support Website: Visit the HP Support page for the 9730e and download the latest driver for your printer model.
- Follow the Installation Steps: After downloading, run the installation file and follow the prompts to install the printer driver.
Check Windows Update
- Sometimes Windows can automatically find and install missing drivers through updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates to see if any printer-related drivers are available.
Use HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store or directly from HP's website.
- Open the app and follow the prompts to add your HP 9730e printer. This app can also handle driver installations automatically.
Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP Support page.
- Run the tool to automatically diagnose and resolve driver issues.
Manually Add the Printer
- If the automated methods do not work, you can manually add the printer in Devices and Printers:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Click Add a Printer and follow the on-screen steps.
- Select your printer from the list or manually enter its IP address if connected to the network.
