I cannot select characters on this panel and it seems to change, ot started not being able to get the letter "t" so I created on the panel a Wireless Router password consisting of characters the panel could select so I typed (no quotes)"adgp jmb19" from keypad and then changed Wireless Router password to (no quotes)"adgp jmb19" thus necessitating change in all other devices connected to WAN. With that being done I then returned to printer to in[ut new password AND EVEN THOUGH I COULD PREVIOUSLY ENTER CHARACTERS I COUDL NO LONGER ENTER THEM AS PANEL WOUDL NOT INPUT THEM THEN. Any suggestion as to what to do.

Hi @tillmanfr,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with the input panel on your HP Officejet 3830 All-In-One Printer. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can often resolve temporary glitches.
  • Check for Firmware/Software Updates: Make sure your printer's firmware and software are up to date. Check the HP website for any available updates for your printer model.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset on your printer. This will reset all settings, including the wireless configuration. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  • Check Input Panel Settings: Ensure that the input panel settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, there might be an option to toggle between different input methods or layouts.
  • Clean the Input Panel: If possible, clean the input panel to ensure there are no physical obstructions or dirt affecting the touch sensitivity. Use a soft, lint-free cloth for cleaning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
