Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HPDeskjetF4580 and I am unable to scan with it although printing works fine. I tried wireless and usb cable aswell. I am not able to scan with the hp smart app - neither on pc nor on mobile phone. I would be very thankful for your help!

Hi @JuliaWieck,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the scanning.

You may just need to remove the existing printer program and install a fresh copy of the software.

If that does not help. try HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver)

Help, suggestions, and examples:

Install Full Feature Software – Printer

NOTE:  If the computer has been recently migrated to Windows 10 or if you need to reinstall the printer software:

  1. Create a Restore Point >
  2. Download a fresh copy of the Full Feature software >
  3. Remove any existing printer software from Programs and Features / Apps and Features >
  4. Restart the computer and log in >
  5. Install Full Feature Software (look in your Downloads folder and Double-Click on the file) >
  6. Restart the computer and log in to finish the installation
