I have an HP DeskJet 2755e, and I've been unable to use the HP Smart app on my chromebook. The printer will occasionally show up on my printer list when I go to print a document. However, when I try to scan or do anything from the HP Smart app, it won't let me log in (or acknowledge that I'm already logged in), but instead goes to an error page with the message below. I'm also unable to add a device to my account via the website; when I go to "Add a device" I get the message "This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." I can usually print from my phone, but I'm unable to scan there either - it gives me the message "This feature is not supported by the selected printer. Connect to a different printer to use this feature." Really hoping to make this a usable device and not just a sculpture in my office.
Something went wrong.

Hi @aml23,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing a login error with the HP Smart app while trying to connect to your HP DeskJet 2755e printer, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check your internet connection: Ensure that your device is connected to a stable internet connection. Unstable or weak connections can cause login issues with the HP Smart app. Try connecting to a different network or resetting your Wi-Fi router if necessary.
- Verify your credentials: Double-check that you're using the correct login credentials (email address and password) for the HP Smart app. If you're not sure, consider resetting your password through the app's "Forgot Password" option.
- Update the HP Smart app: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device. Outdated versions may have compatibility issues. Visit the app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and check for any available updates.
- Clear app cache and data: If you're using an Android device, you can try clearing the cache and data of the HP Smart app. Go to your device's Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Storage > Clear cache/clear data. Note that this will remove any saved preferences or settings within the app, so you may need to reconfigure them after clearing the data.
- Restart your device and printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your device and the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on. Once they have restarted, try logging in to the HP Smart app again.
- Reinstall the HP Smart app: If none of the above steps work, consider uninstalling the HP Smart app from your device and reinstalling it. Delete the app, restart your device, and then download and install the latest version of the HP Smart app from the respective app store.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
