Hi @Wallpeep

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you're experiencing issues printing from your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw on Mac OS 14.6.1, follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Verify Printer Connection

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac. If using USB, verify the cable connection and ensure the printer is powered on.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and Mac to refresh the devices and resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Step 2: Update Printer Drivers and Software

Download Latest Driver:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any available driver updates compatible with Mac OS 14.6.1.

Install Driver:

  • Follow the installation instructions provided on the website to ensure the driver is properly installed.

Step 3: Check Printer Settings on Mac

Open Printer & Scanner Preferences:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and ensure your printer is listed and selected as the default printer.

Check Print Queue:

  • In the Printers & Scanners section, select your printer and check the print queue for any paused or pending jobs that might be blocking printing.

Step 4: Reset Printing System

  1. Reset Printing System:
    • In Printers & Scanners, right-click (or two-finger tap) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System. This action will remove all printers. You can re-add your printer and try printing again.

Step 5: Check Network and Firewall Settings

Network Settings:

  • Ensure there are no network restrictions preventing the printer from communicating with your Mac. Verify that your IP settings match your network configuration.

Firewall Settings:

  • Check if your Mac's firewall settings are blocking printer traffic. You can temporarily disable the firewall to test printing functionality.

Applying these troubleshooting steps should help you resolve printing issues, ensuring that your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw works seamlessly with your Mac OS 14.6.1.
