Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the "HPSF.exe" error.

Don't worry, I'm here to help! To better assist you - What's the exact model name of the product? Refer to this link for steps to find the product details. (Ensure not to share the serial number, email, phone number, etc.)

In the product section of the post, you have mentioned a printer model name. Are you not able to print?

HPSF.exe is related to the HP Support Assistant software which is shipped with HP PCs. Are you getting this error on a computer screen or on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer?

If the error is on a computer, try these steps -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for
HP Support Assistant.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.
5) Install the HP Support Assistant from this link.

You may refer to this document.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

Thanks for getting back to us. What's the model name of the computer? How are you trying to install the operating system - through the recovery partition or the recovery media?

Let me know.
