Hi Schlomi,
Thank you for helping. I uninstalled the HP stuff successfully and downloaded the HewletPadkardPrinterDrivers.pkg. Upon clicking on the pkg, I got the following:
“HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. Further, after clicking OK to that message, I got:
Safari can’t open the file “HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg” because no available application can open it.
I tried right clicking and got the same sequence of error messages. I did not try to open it as I never got that option.
Any thoughts as to how to proceed from here?

Please try right-clicking (CTRL + Left key) the file from your Downloads folder, then select Open from the menu and check if it launches.
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.

Hi again Shlomi,
I did as you suggested, clicked on "open" and I got the exact same error messages as before. It did not launch and give me
choices of drivers for my operating system and printer/scanner combination.
And now I cannot print either.
What next?

Hi Shlomi,
I guess there is not help for getting the right driver for my combination of HP Deskjet F4480 All-in-one printer and iMac OS 11.2 (Big Sur). Is it that you have stopped supporting that printer? Is it that you just don't have (as it appears) drivers for Apple's Big Sur OS yet?
Please help, as all I can do now is use it as a copier.

When I try to use my HP Deskjet 3520 to scan, as it has for years, it now says " “HPScanner.app” will damage your computer -" and there is no way I can see around the problem.
The Mac updates itself regularly...what can I do to get my scanner back?
