Hi!

I've just changed my home network infrastructure and unfortunately, I forgot the EWS administrator password. This case isn't described in the manual included with the printer and I'm blocked to change WiFi settings on this device at this moment. I'm waiting for Your help!

Hello Christians,

Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter. Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password. Keep the username default as admin.

Type the New Password and Verify Password.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply. I need a hard reset because I've changed the EWS password. And the printer doesn't accept the password that was saved.

   @ Christians,

Try another way:

How do I manually assign an IP address to my printer?

Under certain conditions, the printer network settings can cause the IP address, the address assigned to your printer on the network, to change. When this happens, the computer or mobile device cannot locate the printer. Changing to a manual IP address prevents the connection from changing.
  1. On the printer homepage, select Network Settings under the Settings tab.
  2. Click TCP/IPv4, and then select Manually in the Assign IPv4 Address: drop-down menu.
  3. Type your new IPv4 Address, and then click Apply.
The printer reconnects to the network and the printer IP address changes.

Can I set up my printer on a local network through the printer homepage?

How do I change the EWS username and password?

Secure your printer by changing the default username and password to log in to the printer EWS.
  1. Open the EWS.
  2. Click Login in the top-right corner, and then type admin for the user name. If a password is required, use the WPS Security PIN which can be found by printing a Network Configuration Report.
A prompt displays requesting the user to change the ID and password.
    note:
If you are already logged in, hover over the Security tab, click System Security, and then click System Administrator.

  3. Click Yes.
  4. In the Web Interface Security section, type a new login ID, type a new password, confirm the new password, and then click Apply.

Thanks for the information. To explain what information I need, I have done the following steps:

1. Assigned static IP

2. Login with the default username and password.

3. Changed the password on the admin user

4. When I try to log in, the old and new password doesn't work.

Could someone please send me the guide to reset the printer? @Sandytechy20
