HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been having a few minor problems with my printers, HP 3772 All in one and my HP 8720 All in One. Somehow my 8720 printer in settings have gotten some grayed out commands on the display screen, how the heck did that happen, I'm so frustrated, because it says on the the screen when I tap one of these commands that; this has been locked by the person that setup the printer. I haven't done anything to this printer. Could it have something to do with "Protected Mode", I had that wrote down on a piece of paper with a pin number by it. I don't remember having anything to do with protected mode, don't even know where it is. Can anyone help me here.

If functions like fax are either not configured or disabled they will show that way. When you log into the Embedded Web Server of the printer you can either enable or configure these functions. The disabled by administrator is a generic message that would show whether they were disabled out of box (common) or actually turned off when the device was setup.
